Peach or nectarine?
I had a law school roommate whose elderly aunt used to say, in a thick Yiddish accent that he imitated so well, "I'd rather have a rotten nectarine than a ripe peach."

Maybe it's a Jewish thing; I completely agree with the aunt. Fuzzy and mushy and sickly sweet? No thank you. Soft yet crisp? Sweet yet tart? Mmmm, nectarine!
Very important question of the day; we in America really need to be considering these options and how they affect our daily lives.

It's probably just me but somehow it feels like this post should have some sort of adult content warning.

That's just too much information.

Nectarines are better raw, while peaches are better in pies.
Make of that what you will...

"ripe peach" = good looking but poor or stupid
"rotten nectarine" = ugly but rich or smart
= go for brains or money, not looks
good looks fade, like a fast-ripening peach
Did you always follow her advice? (hehehehe - aunt was very perceptive...)
