While all are worthy of the title "lame", I believe Linn's is the lamest.
I mean who believes she's really sorry?

Second that emotion.
Where can I sign one of those recall petitions, by the way? There's lots of jobless in Multnomah County.
We would welcome her.

I am going to go with a tie between Neil and Diane.
Linn only apologized because she's scared of losing her job, and Neil only apologized because it was going to be out in the papers anyway.
Both pretty despicable to me.

Yeah, i'd agree the lamest apology came from Diane Linn.

especially since she didn't have much to apologize for.

I'd have to say Bush. He didn't even apologize, he merely stated that he assured the King of Jordan that he was "sorry". He gets my vote for lamest merely because at least everyone else attempted.

Wow they're all pretty bad.
1)I would have to go with Bush though, because he didn't actually even make a public apology- he stated that he said "sorry" to the king of Jordan; thats pathetically sad.
then the rest in order-
2)Diane Linn: You weren't sorry before, but now you are? Eh.
3)Rummy: Sure he said sorry, but he doesn't think accountability means making actually taking it himself. When you decide to take the boss position, you are taking on resposibilities.
4)Goldschmidt: I think he means sorry, but not sorry enough to realize the utter indecentcy (and illegal) crime he committed.
5)The Nuns: appropriate reflective time and place for an apology.

Diane Linn definately!!! Seemed like she was apologizing for the rest of us not understanding her position. Not to mention she contradicted herself within her so-called apology by summing it up with "I still think I did the right thing".
Amazing how she actually convinced herself the whole idea of an apology was a worthwhile effort, but then there are people out there like torridjoe who seem to think she had nothing to apologize for. What's up with that torridjoe?

Bush. He never apologized. He used the fact that "sorry" can mena all kinds of different things. In this case, I think he meant something like, "I really regret the trouble this is going to cause me, and I wish it would go away". That's not an apology, however true it might be.
