Looks like Lily has bonded.

She's doing o.k. Ralphie, however, is still not sure about this.

I have had some experience with this type of thing, and Ralphie will be OK, especially once Lily gets full grown, but it looks like your little one has started that special bond with her cat. Expect to see Lily dressed in doll clothes, and become her chief confidant. I had that special cat growing up, and my daughter had hers for 15 years I got her when she was five. The established house cat I had before the kids came learned to appreciate as the new cat took all the gushing attention and let her remain aloof and dignified.

Lovely pair.

Regarding Ralphie: at least he has experience as a second cat. Most cats adjust to additional cats, but once in a while I hear a story of one that gets just too indignant and moves. My sister, for example, had a cat for many years that moved across country twice with her and her husband, then accepted children and even a dog. But a new kitten was just too much. The older cat disappeared. The family searched for her diligently, then gave up.

Many months later, my sister, one of those people who likes to look at houses on the market for fun, went to see a house that had just gone up for sale. Her former cat met her at the door. She had started hanging around and the property owners had taken her in as a stray.
