The Assistant Program Specialist in the Office of Transportation – Aerial Tram project office is responsible for providing project coordination support related to the Portland Aerial Tram project. Duties include preparing written communications including reports, correspondence, meeting agendas and public notices; and preparing visual materials, graphics and maps using GIS, Adobe and PowerPoint software. This position also participates in organizing public meetings, forums and open houses; answers questions and provides information and assistance to staff and the public in person, on the telephone and in writing. Additional duties include, conducting general site visits and recording onsite development through photographic documentation; preparing contracts and various Council and Bureau documents as needed; and assisting with the processing of construction related items/materials including: submittals, requests for information, change directives/change orders, and architectural supplemental instruction/sketches. Persons appointed to limited term positions will be designated as limited duration employees whose appointment shall not exceed two (2) years except for the extension of grants or funding from outside sources. This position has secured funding only for 6 months but could be extended if additional funding is identified.
