I'm surprised Oregon's legislature hasn't thought of this yet. The resulting ballot measure would certainly make for some interesting campaign literature, which I would read only for the articles.

hey, why not? Portland could tax Ron Jeremy's new swingers club opening soon downtown. I hear there is a full-page ad for it in the PSU Vanguard. (Along with articles on "being a pornstar".)

Since nude dancing is considered a form of speech by the Oregon Supreme Court, it may be hard to tax it. Better idea would be to go after the majority of the strip clubs who don't pay their strippers, but instead call them "independent contractors," even though the treat them as employees for all practical purposes. If they had to pay minimum wage, at least we'd get some tax revenue from that, and the strippers would get a bit of economic security.

Read, who needs to read? If your local clubs were to follow the Tampa model you need only be the man on the street.
