Neil Goldschmidt, former Oregon governor and current wheeler-dealer,

who took around $1 million in consulting fees to help

keep the state workers' compensation insurance agency out of political hot water --

fees which, when disclosed, plunged it into hotter water than it's felt in quite a while.

Also shamelessly took a nice piece of the action on the buyout of Portland General Electric from Enron

just after (or while) he campaigned hard as a public-spirited citizen (cough)

 to defeat a local public power initiative.
