volunteers, managed to talk the
Oregon Legislature into financing part
of the cost of a proposed major league baseball stadium in Portland,
to be paid for out of the state income
taxes that would be collected on the players' salaries.
Next up: convincing the Portland City
Council, for whom the idea may make too much sense.
