Uncork 'em, Danno

An alert reader reports:

Did you see "Hawaii 5-0" on Monday night? McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) is having a P.I. (Treat Williams) spy on his former CIA agent mother (Christine Lahti, who is ON to him immediately). While the P.I. and McGarrett's mother are about to have lunch, they engage in a discussion about good wines, pinot noirs, when McGarrett's mother goes on and on about the Wines of Oregon from the Willamette Valley!

To us, this is amazing news. "Hawaii 5-0" is back on the air? And Christine Lahti is playing an adult somebody's mother?

Incidentally, those product placement fees are becoming more and more prevalent, especially as standard advertising becomes less relevant thanks to DVRs and NetFlix. If I remember correctly, it's legal to incorporate those plugs into a storyline or feature the item in an incidental position, but you can't insist that the action stop so everyone can focus on the advertised item. Likewise, it's completely verboten with children's programming, and has been since the 1950s.
