Can't see the trees for the forest

We know it's 2013, but we still can't quite get a handle on what day of the week it is. Is it a work day?

I knew I really nailed down day amnesia when, retired, I drove into and turned right around out of a crowded supermarket parking lot, muttering to myself, "Why the hell am I shopping on a weekend?"

Yup!

Odd and a bit sad to see my daughter return to PPS high school mid-week after a fun, lengthy break.

Due to the extensive and irresponsible Holiday entitlements, I have fallen over the normal pants cliff

EWG: that is hilarious.

I remember what day it is. It's ONE DAY before you root for Kansas State!

If today is the first Wednesday of the month, then it's time for the Executive Club at the Shilo on Airport Way. Buffet at 6, meeting at 7, and cigars and sparkling conversation around 830 or so.

Cant find an exact link, but this tribute to the club founder is as good as any.

I know it is the year of the Rat, but keep writing Dog on my checks!

Thank you Reader's Digest.

John you are really out of sync as 2012 is the year of the Dragon. Feb 10th ushers in the year of the Snake.

I've been confused all week too, but I know today was a mail day because I got a very nice, actual paper, acknowledgement of our Buck A Hit Day donation from our host, Jack.

Thank you again, Jack. You sparked my hidden holiday spirit that day and we were happy to participate & get that good feeling. Well, Himself will be as soon as I bring him into the loop.

Didn't get much work done, but there's always tomorrow.
