Changing of the guard in Lake O.

So far, we really like the guy who's the new mayor of Lake Oswego. We hope he can keep his even temperament while the Goldschmidt Network attempts to undermine him at every turn. Here's what he's saying on the way in the door -- the same things he said on the campaign stump:

What do you want to see Lake Oswego look like at the end of your term?

Lake Oswego will be known throughout the region as a dynamic city with great character, a stable fiscal future and a sustainable population and environment.

- There will be continued redevelopment of the commercial and industrial areas.
- The streets and parks will be better maintained.
- Opinions will have been heard and respected.
- There will be a long-term strategic plan.
- City government will be more efficient and effective.
- We will have realigned our priorities and stopped the increase in debt.
- The character of the residential neighborhoods will have been preserved.

Go for it, Mayor.

Perhaps L.O. can be persuaded to annex Portland? You will have to figure out how to deal with the long-term debt and close the PDC first, of course.

Portland's current fiscal outlook reminds me of Hostess before their first banko.

Those are pretty much the same things the rest of "new day" leaders are saying throughout Clackamas County.

And they'll get a lot of support from each other and the new partnership they will all form.

Good stuff!

It's the adults taking control away from the Children of the Corn.

Bout time.

A breath of fresh air and I believe the man. He and the newly elected councilors will roll up their sleeves and clean up the mess left by the previous two Mayors.
