Be careful ordering your Irish beer this weekend

The phrase "black and tan" is a bit loaded.

This from the comments on that site - funny stuff by the way:

"The black owner of Nike, obviously, would be the first to complain about an encroachment on his racial dignity, but is unable to express a similar respect for Irish people."

Phil, I thought I knew ya!

Anyone familiar with Irish history already knows this bit of trivia and I've often wondered how the term ever came to be applied to a mix of Harp and Guinness?

The drink predates the military force.

Can't wait to see their Cossack boots. That swoosh goes great with a shashka!

Sometimes everyone just needs to get over their own bad selves. Seriously, I never heard of "Black & Tan" as being an offense to the Irish, and Nike was clearly referring to the beverage. They are cool looking shoes though, and I might just buy a pair.

Usual Kevin. -- U.K. -- Hmmm. Easy, just funnin'.

Nothing beats the Irish Car Bomb:

shot of Jamison and Baileys dropped into a 1/2 pint of Guinness and chugged on the spot so it doesn't curdle. Mmmmmm.

Whatever the color of your libations, may I offer this Irish toast a few days early?

Here's to you, here's to me, the best of friends we'll always be.
But if we ever disagree, forget you here's to ME!
