Ever since Bill Belichick was caught cheating - a fact that could have led to his Super Bowl win against my beloved Philadelphia Eagles - I have strongly disliked this New England organization.
I also hate the way the media fawns over this classless jerk. He besmirched the integrity of the game and they still talk about him like he could be the best coach of all time. Purcells, Bill Walsh, and Lombardi are better coaches than him just for starters. And they didn't steal the blitz signals so Brady could stand back there, knowing what blitzes were coming.
This isn't some theory - the NFL fined him for it. But what about the games that were affected? The Eagles felt like every blitz after the first quarter just happened to run into the perfect screen pass or whatever to counter it. And that was no accident.
So suck it Belichick. You angered the football gods and they have, once again, taken their revenge.
And as far as Tom Brady being the best ever, how many Super Bowls did Joe Montana lose again?

"We are the 2%!"
Great plays by Manning, Manningham & Blackburn for the Giants in the 2nd half. Manning's touch at times was awesome.
Besides the masterful display of skills by players on both teams, the Patriots made a lot more mistakes than the Giants overall. Gronk's ankle conk was a factor, but not a determiner.
A good reporting job here, btw:
Tom Brady in postgame daze of disappointment after another Super Bowl loss to the Giants By Dan Wetzel

Last week Gisele was asking people to pray for Tommy. This week we're just praying she doesn't get her hands on the Patriot receivers.
I'm sorry for New England fans and Wes Welker and Gronkowski (for being injured) , but having a Brazilian supermodel dropping f-bombs about the Patriot receivers was as good as it gets in the comedy world.

I agree with you Bill...Belichick is truly the Darth Vader of the NFL, and what's with that stupid sleeveless hoodie thing he keeps wearing? Yes, I agree he got caught cheating red-handed, and in my book he's no better than A-Roid, Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire and all the other so-called "greats" who cheated their way to the top. Tom Brady was a direct beneficiary of the cheating, and may have had full knowledge of it all, but the league wouldn't want to tarnish the image of one it's all time Golden Boys would they?
5 weeks ago I was thinking Green Bay would take it all the way until I saw G-men pluck the Falcons 28-2 in the wild card game at Met Life Stadium, and then I became a true believer and switched my vote to the NY Giants the following week...before they beat Green Bay. I think only 5% were picking them to win the Super Bowl at that point, but they played both sides of the ball better than anyone else the league down the stretch and that's when it really counts.

Wow...it takes very large cajones along with a fat bank roll to make a bet like that one. But not such a stupid move when you think about the potent combination of the Giant's super-star punter and an psyched-up defensive unit playing their first defensive series of the game with the Patriots pinned down inside the 5 yard line.

That safety could have made quite a difference. I know you can't go back and rewrite one play without changing everything afterwards, but lets say everything else was the same. Take away those 2 points and the score would have been 19-17, but the Giants would have gone for 1 instead of 2 after the weird gift touchdown. So that would have been 20-17 meaning the Patriots could have tied with a field goal rather than being forced to throw the Hail Mary.
The safety changed the game.

Say what you will about Belichick, his decision to let the Giants score a touchdown shows that Chip Kelly isn’t ready for the NFL. New England demonstrated why Oregon should have let Auburn score a touchdown in the national championship game. It was an even gutsier call for Belichick, since New England would have won if they could have forced a field goal and the field goal attempt failed. The best Chip Kelly could have hoped for was overtime.
Still, a great game.

The more I see of Cam Newton the more Oregon looks great for even being in that game. What a monster talent.
