Here's a story whose release was timed so that you wouldn't see it: The Portland Development Commission is now being sued in connection with its alleged double crossing of a development firm over the cratered Centennial Mills project. Of course, to kiss up to the city bureaucrats, the city's daily newspaper now identifies the plaintiff as "a disgruntled California developer." Come on, Brad, you can be more subtle than that.

Snow Job and the Seven Schlubs....more whistling while they work (us over).
Smells like there's another lawsuit and/or grand jury investigation in there, too:
Taxpayers have invested more than $12.5 million into the Centennial Mills site, which is no closer to development today than when the PDC bought it in 2000.
It must be the "O" style page the requires the first sentence to frame the slant of the what used to be called "reporting."
Just like Emily "fuggetaboutit's" Option piece "Armed with snarky signs" opening shot, Brad tells us he is shaping the story with a californicator not liking Portlandia.
Brad misses that Lab Holding is all about "hiking, biking, yoga, vegan and raw food restaurants!
And it would be way to much to ask him to read your second link that outlines the truth.
Friday night burials, and trance-like mutterings ("snarky" - "disgruntled" - etc.), are to be expected from a zombie army of keyboard peckers and etadurs @ "The Ohhh." Heck, birds won't even put on it anymore on the bottoms of their cages. Go by spokesperson!
Back in the day, The Ohhh editors probably referred to Rosa Parks, David Sohappy, and those Portland Diocese altar boys as "disgruntled," too. How disgruntling! Put a grouse on it!
When I moved here in 1974 Fred Stickel's Oregonian Publishing company would not allow the use of the word "condom" in their paper.
They even "excised" frames of the comic strip Cathy from their paper for being too political. Cathy?
In my younger impetuous life I actually got a copy of the offending artwork, put it on a stick, and picketed in front of their offices.
None of the passersby could see what the problem was. Eventually a gentleman came out of their front door and read the comic strip on my "informational picket sign." He developed a scowl. He looked at me and the forehead wrinkles deepened. He finally spoke to me and said: "I'm the editor at the city desk and I've been taking heat all morning over this?!"
Even their own people didn't get to see when the publisher banned.

Newspapers wonder why they are in danger of collapse. Maybe they should resort to journalism and see how that works out.

Maybe even a federal criminal case?

Doesn't he name him in the 3rd paragraph, "Shaheen Sadeghi," and in the 4th paragraph, "through his company Project Seed LLC?"

This California developer made the key rookie mistake when dealing with the PDC: not being Gerding Edlen.

Journalism???? I am shocked that there might be journalism going on here!
There is not! Well and good, carry on everyone, free drinks!
