Here are the choices for the upcoming weekend in our charity pro football underdog game:
14.5 KANSAS CITY at San Diego
10.5 INDIANAPOLIS vs. Pittsburgh
8.5 BUFFALO vs. New England
7 DENVER at Tennessee
4 HOUSTON at New Orleans
3.5 JACKSONVILLE at Carolina
3.5 MINNESOTA vs. Detroit
3.5 ST. LOUIS vs. Baltimore
3.5 CHICAGO vs. Green Bay
3 OAKLAND vs. New York Jets
3 SEATTLE vs. Arizona
2.5 MIAMI at Cleveland
2.5 SAN FRANCISCO at Cincinnati
1.5 ATLANTA at Tampa Bay
The deadline for all picks is 10:00 a.m. Pacific time on Sunday.
We have a 33rd player, which means that charities will get more than $900 out of our pot this season. Nice going, people! That's great work even if you never did pick a winning underdog. But of course, this weekend, you will...
UPDATE, 9:40 p.m.: By rule, Giants-Philly and Washington-Dallas are off the board at the moment, but could be added between now and Thursday.
9 NEW YORK GIANTS at Philadelphia
5 WASHINGTON at Dallas (Monday, but pick due like all the rest, Sunday 10 a.m. Pacific Time)

Jack, you're missing the Giants @ Eagles line opening at Eagles minus 7.5 on three books so far. That game holds significant attraction for 'doggers, especially at that value.
"When Dick Jauron was fired as Buffalo coach, one of the first decisions made by interim coach Perry Fewell was to install Fitzpatrick as the starting quarterback. After two games as coach, Chan Gailey did the same last season."
And,
"With Evans gone, Fitzpatrick is throwing to guys, outside of Roscoe Parrish, who are not well-known: receivers Steve Johnson, Donald Jones, and David Nelson, and tight end Scott Chandler."
Forty-one points was surprising, but it may be more indicative of the Chiefs' porous defense since the Buffs amassed only 54 points during their four pre-season contests. Thirty-five of those came in their sole win, an overtime affair against Jacksonville -- a squad the Pats vanquished in their first pre-season contest, 47-12.
Offense should prove a problem against the Pats' good-but-getting-better defense that showed how solid it can be during their goal-line stand against the Chargers last Sunday. But it did give up 34 in its third pre-season test -- against resuscitated Detroit, which also defeated the Buffs in their last pre-season, 16-6.
Mr Tom is clearly on a mission this year. He has many formidable and sly receivers -- already well-known -- to achieve a return to the championship arena. It will be loud in Buffalo, however, so this game may be closer than anticipated. Look to the home team to focus on removing the Pats' QB early?
Fitzpatrick, this year, is an example of one man taking a team out of the "Who cares?" category and making them intriguing.
The transformation may not be as significant as in Carolina, but I say go Bills.
Preliminary list of decent lookin' underdog candidates this weekend is very short:
Houston, Minnesota -- Buffalo tempting, but that's emotion; Oakland a possibility playing at home.
Sure wish the Dallas-Washington & Phila.-NYG lines get up in time per the rules (please wait until the last couple of minutes to check tonight, Jack!). Those two games have serious upset potentials.
But who cannot cheer for 325lb RDT Vince Wilfork (Miami FL) when he intercepts (as he did Rivers last Sunday) and lumbers downfield. Granted, he has only done that once; but it does not mean he will not do it again.
The Buffs (I just can't call them the Bills) feature three Beavs and one from the Eugene institution of higher football instruction: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/buf/roster
Gardiner, I just can't root for the Pats. I like Chad 8-5 and Patrick Chung, but I'm sticking with Buffalo. My girls will have their Bills jerseys on and hopefully they will pull off an upset.

Also, Washington @Dallas, with Washington getting either 6 or 6.5, depending on the book. Also an attractive play in this contest.

Those games are off the board until our official oddsmaker posts them.

I don't see the quarterback from Harvard beating Tom Brady. I'd like to see it, but I don't see it.

Bill McD,
Fitzpatrick is receiving considerable hype of late, now that he has become an "NFL starter":
"Seven years removed from his final snap for the Crimson, Fitzpatrick is becoming a household name in the league after helping to orchestrate one of the Week 1 shockers: Bills 41, Chiefs 7 at Arrowhead Stadium."
http://www.boston.com/sports/football/articles/2011/09/18/bills_fitzpatrick_builds_reputation/

Mr Tom is clearly on a mission this year. He has many formidable and sly receivers -- already well-known -- to achieve a return to the championship arena. It will be loud in Buffalo, however, so this game may be closer than anticipated. Look to the home team to focus on removing the Pats' QB early?

BUFFALO, BUFFALO, BUFFALO. Support local(Vancouver) boy Rian Lindell, former Duck Byrd, and I think a couple of Beavers are on the team too.

PDXPessimist,
#25 Patrick Chung (UO) continues to impress in the Pats' secondary and #85 Chad Ochocinco (OSU) has joined the WR crew:
