This blog was born nine years ago on this night. Back then, it was something we were just trying out; these days, the place seems to have a life of its own. We have written about 15,000 posts, and there have been about 5.7 million visits to look at them. Readers have left about 150,000 comments.
Most people never really know where their influence starts and stops. We've been blessed with at least a little bit of insight into how this blog affects our city, and sometimes maybe even the greater world. But by and large it's all intuitive. Something tells us that you are there, and we are here, and it's a good thing that we are communicating with each other. Thank you, and here's to another year in the blogosphere. Congratulations, and thanks for your blog. I think you are very definitely making a difference by covering issues and offering perspectives not found anywhere else in this town. Keep up the good work!
I know that doing something you love does not feel like work, but let me tell you something, you are doing the work that few others seem willing to do. Thank you Mr. Bogdanski, for all you have done these past nine years!
Thank you for trying to bring order to our chaotic world. I am also grateful for your family's tolerance of this most productive hobby. If the O was paying any attention to their own irrelevance, they would offer you a part time job from the comfort of your attic.

Jack, thanks for everything. Your blog certainly has influence but that's not what I like about it. I view it as a therapy group where we can all go to try and maintain our sanity.
Thank you Jack.
Thank you for keeping us updated week after week.
Thank you for providing this forum for us to share information.
For me personally, it has been a relief to know there are others in our city who feel as I do regarding matters and are willing to share their thoughts.

Thank you very much for what you've done, and what you continue to do. So where do we contribute money so we can all buy you and your family dinner?

Your openness to all thoughts and viewpoints and your insistence on looking under the covers is why this site rocks.
It is making a difference in public discourse on events in the Rose City.
Nine more years and we might just whack down the slimy underbelly of our local "development" Mafia.

You're waaaay above number 9 for informativeness compared to the other paid media outlets.
You really need to do a Huffington Post, it'd sell better than that fiction did.
