The razor-thin distance in the rivalry between FbD and FbDH continues yet another week.

Yeah, I'd have rather they played tonight too. LOVE watching snow games. But all it takes is one fatal accident and one lawsuit...

Nice little season the Vikings have thrown together. What's that so far? One collapsed roof, one home game in Detroit, one at the Gophers stadium, and now a postponement for a blizzard?
The Hall of Fame quarterback is in a penis-picture investigation, then gets injured and loses his consecutive appearance streak after 19 years. The backup who's been waiting patiently goes in and gets injured in around 5 minutes but not before running into the star running-back knocking him out.
The coach gets fired. The stadium's a snow pile and now you get 48 more hours in Philadelphia to think about it.
Ever get the feeling it wasn't your year?

Now, Bill McD, just because a coast-hugging blizzard has postponed an Eagles contest in Philthy for at least two days, you should not be piling on the hapless squad from MN. (BTW, you did notice that Penn took the Ivies this year, with but one loss and none in the league.)
In other NFL notes, Marshall U's Randy Moss, whose return to MN was brief, is not listed among those who vied in today's exhibition in KC. Perhaps because someone said something:
"Jeff Fisher praised Randy Moss this week, saying 'he has been great for this team.' Moss, who has five receptions in six games, responded by closing the curtain of his sweat lodge and communing with his spirit chipmunk." (NYT)

Don't blame the lawyers. Anyone who drives in a blizzard assumes the risk. Play the darn game.

Not blaming lawyers. It's the NFL who won't stand up to the lawyers by saying "anyone who drives in a blizzard assumes the risk."
But I suspect I'd do the same if I were Roger Goodell.

As of a couple of minutes ago (9 p.m., Sunday), KGW still has a viewer alert posted on its website which states that KGW has not yet decided whether or not to air the Vikings-Eagles game on Tuesday night.
What? Is it more important that we watch Tracy Barry, Joe Donlon, and Chief Meteoroligist Matt Zaffino do their nightly newscast?
And what about the fact that NBC's Sunday Night pre-game show, which aired at its regular time, repeatedly promoted the fact that Tuesday's game will be aired nationally? Is anybody at KGW conscious and coherent?
And has no one at KGW figured out yet, that when there's a conflict between something like a Blazers game, and the NBC Nightly News, that they can air the news on 8-2?
Heaven help us all if a few snow flakes fall on the valley floor Tuesday afternoon. Then all regular programming will be pre-empted for KGW Storm Coverage!

Hey, take it easy on the City of Brotherly Love, they're only being sensible -- if it was Portland, SamRand would be paying to fly everyone to Honolulu for the change of venue and claim it was revenue neutral.

I'll win my fantasy football league if Vick has a huge game, so I'm delighted they postponed the game.

Governor Ed Rendell joined countless fans upset about the game's move to Tuesday when he told FOX News:
"It's an absolute joke. I was looking forward to this. It would have been a real experience. This is what football is all about. We're becoming a nation of wussies."

Re: "We're becoming a nation of wussies."
Mojo, Gov. Rendell did say "wusses," not the more suggestive "wussies." "Wusses" is there on the tape and in the transcript.
"Wusses," btw, is not a term that can be rationally associated with a sport that leaves many of its practitioners physically or mentally maimed.

GM: I only quoted the source cited per the link I provided -- I don't have empty time to confirm stupid stuff like that. Btw, Rendell was referring to the NFL front office, not the players. And besides, wusses/wussies = a distinction without a difference.
