I think Saltzman missed a memo. Sizer is going to retire after the big civil judgment comes back against the police in the Chasse case. Then the city can act as though it finally did something about that senseless homicide. Now that we hear that she's leaving no matter what because her pension is vesting, well, it makes that touching scene a lot less convincing.

I'm thinkin the Legend is just pointing her the when and way out... Sloppy but effective.
Rosie needs to go NOW. If not, then shuffle her to another bureau assignment. Another 6 months of a lame-duck cheif cannot be good for anyone, especially if she's bitter. I'm sure she will move around her cronies and hand out as many promotions as she can get away with between now and retirement. The problem with appointing any new chief is that all the potential ones are just looking at it as a sunsetting gig to ride until retirement instead of being concerned about the long-term big picture.

I pray they don't appoint a woman or minority officer just for the sake of diversity. If there is a good affirmative action candidate, great, but another hapless Sizer or Foxworth, who both lacked the common sense, perspective, and fortitude to stand up against the police union on issues like what to do with Thumper, would actually harm the long-term advancement of women and minorities.
