I love Brandon, but can we please stop joking with this whole "Brandon prefers to play with Steve Blake" thing? The truth is that Brandon wants to score points, and he doesn't get the same chance when Andre is running the point. People flogged Iverson when he had an I-score-first mentality in Philly--why is Brandon getting a free pass on the same thing (granted, stated more diplomatically) here?
Beats me. Nate and Brandon were our salvation for the last couple of years, but they can't take it to the next level without somebody to get the team running and to pass the ball in to Oden. Blake is not that guy.
Pritchard can't be happy with the way this went down. Maybe he ought to shop Roy and Blake for Kevin Durant.
One thing that would be helpful in the short-term is to abandon the fiction that Oden is some kind of low-post threat.
Offensively, Oden's range is roughly the same as the distance between your fingertips and the monitor screen. He puts up some nice numbers against Minnesota and teams of that ilk because he can miss his little 2-foot hook, get the rebound, and dunk it. That's not going to work against San Antonio, Boston, Utah, etc.
It would help if Nate wasn't acting like a college-age fantasy football manager with his crazy roster moves. You literally never know who will be starting any particular night. That can't be good for the lineup.
I think Bill Simmons got it exactly right about this team: Nate was the right coach to mold a team of 22 year olds. Now that those guys are vets with 3 or 4 years under their belts, they're starting to tune him out.
Maybe he ought to shop Roy and Blake for Kevin Durant.
Wow. Where do I sign THAT petition? Of course the entire Blazer broadcast crew would immediately need to apologize to Durant for everything they've said about him the last two-plus years.
Brandon Roy has increasingly shown that his style of one-on-one heroic drive or fall away jump shots has its limitations. I have never seen Brandon use a pick and then look for the pass to the roll. Andre Miller is a far superior team player (albeit without Brandon's physical attributes). Andre can pass to the cutter, off the screen and roll and lob to the hoop. Please teach Brandon these skills before trading Andre.
Brandon will never lead us to the Promised Land. In Damon fashion, it's amazing how often players sign for the big bucks and then go about destroying the chemistry of the team. Too bad for us if we lose Andre over this. I'd rather watch him for the next few years than Brandon.
Dean brings up a great point... it frustrates me to no end to continually see the pick made, watch the man roll toward the basket, and NEVER see the pass made. EVER.
Brandon has acquired a big head and thinks he owns this team. The Blazers will never reach the NBA finals with Brandon's solo approach to scoring and his poor defense. Let's get rid of him and keep the grown-up (Andre Miller).

I don't think Brandon is fatally flawed. But, lately his footprints seem to be leaving some clay behind.

After seeing the way the Blazers have acted this year, one thing is clear: We owe Hedo's wife an apology.

Well, at least if they get Tyrus Thomas, they'll have a front court option.
However, they still have an unresolved PG issue. Maybe Brandon should just take that over and see if he can do it.
