Get out the checkbook
I'm not the world's greatest expert on campaign finance, but I'm told that tomorrow they're announcing the formation of a political action committee to recall Portland Mayor Sam Adams. They're calling it Recall Sam PAC, I believe. If they look like they know what they're doing, our house is good for $100.

Send Sam PACking. Something tells me most of the mainstream media will ignore the formation of this PAC and downplay the significance of the recall effort. Bigmedia always goes to bed with the sustainability fat cats.

Did I hear correctly that Adams might receive *public funds* to "fight" the recall?
if so, how sickeningly bizarre is that?

And that's how rumors get started, Mr. B!

It was a joke. But the quotes from Amanda are real. And if her logic supports tax funds paying for regular election campaigns, why not the recall defense?

I just hope that it's not connected to the embarrassing Recall Sam site with Wurster and company. Surely there are some more competent folks who can do this, right?

It's all about the $.
You can buy competence...
...and pretty much everything else.
I'm in for $100 - it's a blue-light special.

Finding the votes in an election to recall Adams is going to be easy.
Finding the valid signatures on a recall petition in the limited available time window is going to be very very very difficult.
And after doing Adams, Randy and Amanda need to go.

I didn't read it here. But it sounded like a joke.
But then again, so does "the Mayor was fooling around in the City Hall men's room with a teenager".

Hi All,
It is not a rumor... though the PAC name is 'Community to Recall Sam Adams'.
We have started collecting donations for the Recall. This took a bit longer for us to set up due to the unique nature of not being able to file as a recall committee until July 1st.
After many hours on the phone with Oregon Sectary of State Elections we are all set up to accept donations to remove Adams from office.
More info can be found at www.recallsamadams.com
Or you can directly download the donation form here:

Together we will make our government better,

Well?
Personally, I'm wary. I'd like to know who exactly I'm sending money to and what they're planning to do with it. Don McIntire was at the event last night which leads me to believe there's some serious right-wing political muscle and money behind this. The pre-packaged nature of the website and the redirect to "CitizenRecall.org" are also red flags.
I'd love to see Sam go and would love to help the cause, but this all smells about as grassroots as the tea parties were. Think I'll pass.
