Hanging around and blogging at KGW on election night was a real kick, but it's great to return to the friendly confines of bojack.org. An amazing night -- beyond words, really. It almost doesn't seem real. After all we've been through in the new millennium, it's harder than one might expect to open up to the celebration.
Oprah looked like she was happy.

Well Jack let me be one of the first Republicans to congratulate you/Democrats in tonights victory.
Plus, he's a smart lawyer. Granted, that counts against him for some people, but not for me. And he's not from money, or privilege. To get where he stands right now shows a ton of character.
Middle name: Hussein. A major, major bonus on the foreign affairs front.
They threw everything they had at Obama. I listened to the radio and heard Sean Hannity say if Obama were elected he'd bring his terrorist associates to the White House.
It didn't work. The right wing talking machine huffed and puffed and blew themselves down.
Now they're trapped in that whole "we're happy because we're conservatives" B.S. I can't wait to hear Rush Limbaugh explain why his mighty grip on American politics didn't mean a thing.
Sooner or later the conservative movement was going to be held accountable for what they did - rather than what they said about it.
That happened last night.
Obama just rocked their world.
I love Sarah Palin. She's my little Moose Angel, drifting in to screw up the main argument McCain had in his favor: Experience.
Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh were quick to acknowledge their genius in pushing for her selection. I wonder how they'll spin that now. Oh, who cares what they think? It'll just be more of their unending B.S.
Sarah Palin was an idiot and it's time for her to hop the next dogsled back to Alaska.
My Dad -- who met JFK briefly -- sent me this late last night:
I have been watching CNN and particularly the concession speech by Senator MacCain and the victory speech by President Elect Obama. I was struck by the differences not only in the tones of the speeches but more importantly in the expressions on the faces in the two audiences. (Not to mention the age and compensation of the two groups.) I am proud that I voted for the first Catholic American president and I am even more proud to have voted for the first African American president. I believed Jack Kennedy when he said "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country," and I believe Barak Obama when he says "Yes we can!" and I can't wait to _read_ his speech that I just heard. You asked me once how he compared with Kennedy. Well I can answer now, "Very Favorably"! I'm awfully damn proud to be an American tonight.

Thanks. Obama is truly an amazing politician. Let's hope he's as good a leader. I'm confident that he is.
