Preventable Death of the Week

Somebody, please, buy the Clackamas County bureaucrats a Costco card and show them the aisle where the cordless phones are? Thanks.

Hung himself with 12" long cord? I wear a size 16 shirt and can't figure out how he did that.

The gem buried in that story is that the surveillance video is unavailable. Not because the camera was broken (i.e. the feed was working), but because of a "malfunction related to retrieval of data." Is this just a fancy way to say "we forgot to hit record."

For 10 bucks a month, I've got a box in my living room that records TWO television shows at once in HD ... how hard could it be? Maybe they should switch over to Tivo?

Maybe its because I don't trust the police, but I'm always suspicious that the same systems the police use to provide video evidence for trial never seem to work when the subject is potential police misconduct.

Knowing the Clackamas County Sheriff and his staff well, (and what they have done)I have no suspicions at all.
In fact if I had to pick one local government agency as a model for every other, statewide, it would be the CC Sheriff's office.
Too bad they and their accomplishments haven't gotten the favorable press coverage they deserve.
