Canada is higher on the list...if it is really all about the oil, they better watch out!

Jack, "continued pressure" is not exactly the same thing as "going in."
Would you suggest we stop pressuring Iran? How about N. Korea?
Posted by Rob Kremer | December 4, 2007 8:10 AM
Until Iran presents Bush with convincing evidence that it has never even heard of nuclear weapons, all options, including an attack against it using nuclear weapons, will remain on the table.

I guess you just want to kill. What does it do for you?

Well he might be in the oil business. After all if we nuke Iran it will really drive the price of oil through the roof. :-)

LC:
I was attempting, facetiously, to present the Bush administration's absurd and frightening point of view.
I'm appalled by our government's willingness to go to war and threaten war against countries that do not present a significant threat to us.
I worry that Bush is mentally incompetent and is being advised by people who are power-crazed and utterly immoral.
Posted by Richard | December 4, 2007 12:23 PM
Sorry Richard I misunderstood. I guess I have heard people talk like that so, I didn't catch you're real meaning. I recently heard Bush speaking on this matter. He sounded so hell-bent on... I will use the word: killing.

"It's the oil, stupid."
Attacking Iran would most likely send oil up to $200 or $300 a barrel and send the world economy into a depression as a result.

Oh I get it Jack. This intel. is absolutely right, it is all the other intel. that is wrong.
Posted by John | December 4, 2007 1:36 PM
What other intel. are you referring to? Is Curveball back in business again?
How about the idea of President Bush talking about World War 3, then when we find out about this report that's been in the works for months, he claims he only heard about it last week.
Sorry, but that's not even adult-level lying. That's little-kid lying.
So naturally, Bush supporters will clutch it to their hearts and go on and on about how this is the next Winston Churchill.
Riggghhttttt.

What's sad is that you're totally denying that there's any valid reason to watch out for Iran getting its hands on nukes.
Ahmedinedjad is a raving Islamofascist lunatic. Iran is, remember, the country that declared a death fatwa against Salman Rushdie, supports Hezbollah and Hamas, and has stated its intention to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.
Your implication of a conspiracy theory about oil is ridiculous. If all we wanted was the oil all we had to take was the oil fields. Why the f*** did we bother with Baghdad, etc. if all we were after was the oil?

"What's sad is that you're totally denying that there's any valid reason to watch out for Iran getting its hands on nukes."
Yes, let's "watch out." It's a bad thing when any country gets nuclear weapons. But no, lets not exaggerate or outright lie about a threat that doesn't exist. Iran is not a realistic threat to the U.S. at the present time and probably will never be a threat so grave that we're justified in going to war against it. And it will only be a threat to Israel, which has nuclear weapons right now and a much more powerful military than Iran's, if the US unleashes a widespread, desperately suicidal war in the Middle East by attacking Iran.
Have you learned nothing from the Iraq war? The stupidest, most dangerous thing the US could do is further stir up the hornets nest in the Middle East.
The Ahmedinedjad government in Iran is not universally popular or even completely in control. Let's not contribute to the cause of "Islamofasism," to borrow your ignorant phrase, by uniting all the people in the Middle East against what they perceive as a US that's bent on the theft of their resources, the absolute defense of Israel and the eradication of Arabs and Muslims.

If its all about oil then why aren't we attacking alaska?
Posted by ace | December 4, 2007 7:38 PM
Iran is, remember, the country that declared a death fatwa against Salman Rushdie
like Bush calling for the ultimate execution of nearly all Iraqi leaders before the invasion began?
supports Hezbollah and Hamas
the majority of the world, including secular states (except Israel), consider both of these groups to NOT be terrorists.
and has stated its intention to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.
utterly wrong. this has been disproved time and time again--but is repeated ad nauseam (even by Condi Rice) for propoganda purposes. start reading here:

Eco,
Do YOU believe that Hezbollah and Hamas are terrorist organizations? I know you can't speak on behalf of world public opinion, but what do YOU think?
The anti-zionists are well represented in the Middle East, but are you willing to admit you share their world view?

i agree with George Galloway--i don't think Hezbollah are terrorists. are you willing to submit your opinion? if not, i'm unlikely to take your criticism of mine seriously.
The anti-zionists are well represented in the Middle East, but are you willing to admit you share their world view?
i didn't realize they had formed a club with a uniform "world view." isn't it nice when the world is black and white, Coalition of Good and Axis of Evil?
