Another week, another cipher for me in the pro football underdog pool. I took a flyer on Miami, which actually turned out to be close to right. But not, of course, right. San Francisco, Minnesota, and Oakland were the teams to pick. (Cincinnati would have earned a measly 1 point.)
I shoulda listened to Nick.
The season-long pool has pretty much been won by now. There's still time for me to save face, however. Just one decent 'dog (in caps) -- who wins its game outright -- will earn me the number of points next to its name. If you think the Pack will beat Dallas, you've got to let me know quickly, as I'd have to call that one by 5 p.m. tomorrow.
20.5 BALTIMORE vs. New England
7 JACKSONVILLE at Indianapolis
7 CINCINNATI at Pittsburgh
6.5 GREEN BAY at Dallas (Thursday)
5.5 BUFFALO at Washington
5.5 KANSAS CITY vs. San Diego
3.5 HOUSTON at Tennessee
3.5 OAKLAND vs. Denver
3 DETROIT at Minnesota
3 TAMPA BAY at New Orleans
3 SEATTLE at Philadelphia
3 SAN FRANCISCO at Carolina
1.5 CHICAGO vs. New York Giants
1 NEW YORK JETS at Miami (that's right...the Dolphins are favored)
1 CLEVELAND at Arizona
Readers, please check in with your always helpful suggestions. In the meantime, I'm going to play a game that I have a better chance of winning: Powerball.

Cincy...their offense is still good and they are due for a big win. Pitt is overrated and coming off a less than stellar win.
I think GB is a pretty good pick here, and I say that as someone who has lived in both Texas and Wisconsin. The Pokes are really far ahead in the NFC East and usually get sloppy at this stage. Favre is playing out of this world football, and while Romo seems to be the next great thing, he's not there yet.
49ers over Carolina. Too bad you didn't pick Oakland last week. By the way, your odds on Powerball are almost as good by not getting a ticket as buying one.
You do realize for Mr Bog to win, Baltimore has to win outright, not just beat the spread? This is the same Baltimore that has a hard time putting two FGs on the board during a game.
I also like CIN over PITT since they seem to have gotten their stuff together - It just seems JAX is a lot more consistent lately. I don't think Garrard is wonderful at QB, he's just a guy that doesn't screw up too much (a la Trent Dilfer) If I had Jones-Drew (he is under-rated) as a blocking back AND run threat I'd like that also.

This in another "on any given Thursday" LOL Greenbay over Dallas.

In order:
5.5 BUFFALO at Washington
1 NEW YORK JETS at Miami
7 JACKSONVILLE at Indianapolis
3 TAMPA BAY at New Orleans
Might as well roll the dice on JAX, Indy is still playing hurt and JAX is motivated for a W.

You know, Steve is right about Indy. THey are a damaged team and Jax's Gerrard is probably the most underrated QB in the NFL. JAX is a very good pick.

Are you kidding? At 20.5 you MUST take BALTIMORE and pray for a snowstorm that evens the odds. Can't believe you passed on the 9ers last week.

Pick the Packers or Seattle.

Was still vainly trying to get back in the game with a longshot. Almost converted.
