In a couple of spots along I-5 over by the Rose Quarter, somebody has stuck lawn signs in the ground (illegally of course) that say simply, "Love Oregon?" They're really bare-bones signs -- black stencil font on white cards. They offer no clue as to their origin. Obviously, someone wants us to ask what it's about. I hereby do so.

Also seen on I-5 south of Woodburn, in (I think) a property that usually advertises conservative candidates and cage fights.
I had assumed it was part of a burma-shave style series and I just missed the rest, but apparently it's something different?
They're just like the signs for the pro-49 teaser campaign earlier this year. They were all up and down Macadam, and when I saw one today, I thought it was the same deal...which I support, except for the signs.
I've seen them all over the place in the last couple weeks, along both I-5 and U.S. 26. It seemed like the majority of them were on fences along the edge of private property, mostly farms.
My first thought was that they were a "Yes on 49" message, but you never know...
I, too, have seen them as far out as Gaston. I hoped they were to encourage us to recycle, to live more "green" and to fight for the rights of children and those without health care. I understand both sides of "49" but I wish Oregonians were as passionate for the development of our youth and meeting the needs of our indigent as they are for land issues. Love Oregon? Take a genuine interest then in our greatest resource (hint: it's not the land).
Hey it's Portland. It's Oregon. It's also Time Based Art Festival 07. There are Z/100 radio signs all over the same area by the Rose Quarter as well... maybe some tie in? I think it's fun, what ever or who ever it is. At least it;s not Got Junk or Arbor Homes signs for crying out loud!

There are signs on the PSU campus also!

They are from the 'Yes on 49' campaign.

Also on US 26 out around Timber jct

I hope they're not from "Yes on 49," which I support. Placing signs on public property where they're visible from the freeway is very bad form.

Probably some folks who took that brown acid at Woodstock.

It is the pro 49 group that want to get the land use laws put back in order to protect us from becoming like California...one huge strip mall.
I believe Dave Adams in West Linn started these signs-but I could be wrong.

I saw one that said STRIP MALLS OR STRAWBERRY FIELDS and another that said CONGESTION OR CORNFIELDS on a farm in Washington county this morning.

strawberry fields, forever.

I think this is your guy.
I'm not sure if he or his tactics are officially embraced by the M49 gang - why don't you ask them?
I'm sure they'll tell you they respect all the laws with which they agree.
hee, hee

You can get a "Love Oregon" bumpersticker for two bucks at Powell's.

Re: "I think this is your guy"...
It does seem to be the same guy/guys/gals, but that site seems a little outdated. Perhaps they've changed their marketing tactics.
