Appointed by Alberto, or dear ol' Ashcroft?

It's an assistant U.S. attorney, I think, which means he could have been there long before Bush -- or even Bush Sr.

They only fire for political reasons. Besides this wasn't a little boy!

No party affiliation appeared in the article, which usually means the subject of the story is a democrat. Rebuplicans are identified as such in the first sentence or, at least, in the first paragraph.
Having said that, this is one really bad guy, irrespective of his politics.

Unlike the main U.S. attorneys, whose political affiliations are part of the deal, I don't think the people at the assistant level are hired or retained (or not) because of their political parties.
In any event, according to this board (scroll down to 2:23 a.m. 9/18), the guy's a Republican. So nana nana boo boo, you big Republican, you.

he will be real popular in prison. Chimo and a US attorney. I give him less than a week.

Jack be sure to scroll down and read the 3:45 AM posting:
there was some sort of scandal here about three years ago involving him with minors and an allegation of sexual misconduct at a church group or something. Nothing came of it and no charges were filed. However, this clerk knew the mother of the child who was allegedly the victim of some sort of sexual abuse at this man's hands previously, and said she felt that this child was far too young to have made up such a story. The clerk believed the child was telling the truth. The whole incident blew over and did not result n prosecution then.

Yeah...I scrolled down and read the interchange between the poster and the Escambia County Elections clerk, who stated, "He's a republican and was appointed to his position by the US Attorney's office about three years ago. He has long been involved in local political fund raising, etc., too. HE IS A REGISTERED REPUBLICAN, as is most of the county."

Republican or not, the guy is a crud.

Child abuse knows no party affiliation or professional standing. That it has festered for so long is unfortunate, that they stung this guy is a blessing for other victims. The USA was also president of a youth athletic assn. who said, when asked to assure the mother her child would not be injured; "I only like it nice and soft." "I've done it plenty." I hope investigators interview every young person involved with that association. Ugh. Another pervert disguised as a family values man.

Excuse me, but...
Another pervert disguised as a family values man. = Republican.
Posted by godfry | September 19, 2007 5:58 PM
I'm sure you're right, Godfry. Anybody who says they support family values is obviously a closet pedophile.
Unless they're a Democrat, of course.
