Come on...spill the beans!
Posted by expdx | May 17, 2007 10:42 PM
Yeah, really, who are you protecting by not spilling? Clearly the word is out and about, so it's not like your sources would get busted?
Ohhh, you're a lawyer. You're worried about libel? (I'm not a lawyer; I had to look it up to make sure I didn't mean slander.)

I'm a responsible person, and I haven't yet heard this one from enough people to convince me that it's probably true.

Wow!
Jack channels both *** and ***...
Tacky, Jack.
Very tacky.
If there is a story there, how's about actually reporting it your self, or waiting until it is reported ?
Otherwise you are looking like a cheap imitation of the Enquirer.
And you are and should be better than that.
Posted by Nonny Mouse | May 17, 2007 11:34 PM
Oh, go on. It's only tacky if you repeat the actual substance of the rumor and turn out to be completely wrong. The last time I repeated the substance of a rumor, which turned out to have more than a grain of truth to it, all the media outlets who were missing the story were quick to point out that I was wrong -- even though I had many aspects of it right.
Then they proceeded to forget about the story, accepting a quick brushoff from the local cops. And we never heard another word.

It's Bill Bradbury.
I got the heads up last night.
Posted by Sakaki O. | May 18, 2007 12:17 AM
Bill giving up his cushy job? That one I'll only believe when it happens.
Posted by Lc Scott | May 18, 2007 12:28 AM
It's Bill Bradbury.
That's not the rumor I heard. Not him. Cold, cold, cold.

What is this, NW Republican?
Posted by Kari Chisholm | May 18, 2007 1:23 AM
It's more progressive than that.

You mean the Virginia Linder rumor?
Posted by PMG | May 18, 2007 7:51 AM
What is the Virginia Linder rumor???
Posted by jim | May 18, 2007 10:12 AM
I won't be monitoring this thread for any further guesses. If the rumor turns out to be true, it will be obvious who it was about.
Posted by Jack Bog | May 18, 2007 10:22 AM
I asked Jack back channel if *he* too had heard the rumor that I'd heard. I didn't expect it to turn up as a blog guessing game. I appreciate his discretion in not repeating the name of the person and have nothing to say about any of the names raised here so far. I have no idea of its veracity, but the fact that two different people from independent backgrounds reported the same thing made me wonder whether there was any truth to it. As Jack says, if the rumor turns out to be true, it won't be small news.

The suspense is killing me.
Abruptly resigning = today? or just "soon" or ??
Ugh!

I still say Bradbury. Last time I talked to him in early March, it was not a pretty sight or sound.
Posted by karla | May 18, 2007 5:05 PM
Bradbury. He has been ill for some time and his hand picked replacement needs to run as an incumbent. I just wonder where the Goldschmit connection is in here.
