We're both so bad. There's all this stuff in there about how he's scamming around to hide his assets. And we both go with the sperm angle.

Maybe we can link Vladimirs under performing sperm to Anna Nicole's daughter.
Posted by Dave Lister | February 23, 2007 2:56 PM
Maybe it would be faster this way. Instead of processing all the people who claim to be the father of Anna Nicole's baby, we start with who we can rule out.
Posted by Bill McDonald | February 23, 2007 4:45 PM
He did sign that baby's name on one of Emilie's petitions.

"You don't know what you're talking about, some supposedly knowledgable commenters immediately jumped in to say. It was doubtlessly routine -- not newsworthy."
I just checked OJIN myself and the "hearing" you were talking about on 2/2/07 was call and dealt with scheduling the TRIAL. There was no issue at that point that you linked to which discussed a hearing on his right to a court appointed attorney. I agree that the denial of a court appointed attorney, etc. is newsworthy, but that wasn't what you were pointing to back when I commented on the subject.
Art LaFrance was qouted by the Trib as saying that the currently scheduled TRIAL date of 5/21/07 is unlikely, etc. I never said you didn't know what you were talking about, but rather pointed out that call is a not really a hearing, but more of a routine scheduling procedure in circuit court. It's only newsworthy to the the extent they continue the trial date as they did in this instance to a new date that will most likely get set over yet again especially since he doesn't have a lawyer at this point.
As for being "supposedly knowledgable" I will rely on the fact that I have attended call proceedings at the Multnomah County Courthouse as a licensed attorney for the past 15 years. If you want to check it out yourself call starts every weekday at 9 A.M. in Judge Koch's presiding courtroom on the second floor. Give yourself a little time because it can take up to 20 minutes to clear security, and I don't think they have an express lane for tax professors.

Touchy, touchy.

BTW, if you read what I wrote, you will see that I never said you were wrong in your original assessment.

If Judge Larry was in charge, he would have asked Vlad to submit a sample for the court's review.

Sorry, but the humor is lost on me here. This thread reminds me of the way "unpopular" kids were referred to as "spaz" when I was young.
Posted by lin qiao | February 24, 2007 9:37 PM
Really? Did the unpopular kids commit fraud in the student government elections?
Posted by Jack Bog | February 25, 2007 1:33 AM
Vlad is a fraud....24/7...he's crooked to the core. His whole premise is just pathetically laughable...yet someone's gonna buy it....he'll probably walk.

Vlad trotted out his sperm count to prove his own marriage was on the rocks? All in a half-hearted attempt to prove he lacks sufficient funds to pay for his own attorney. Perhaps it was only a lame excuse. Maybe his marriage really is falling apart. Perhaps he is simply trying to shield assets in his wife's name, knowing that he can cop a plea, do his time, and she will have some income and a home while he's unemployed.
Ummmmm. OK. Our bad.

Since we are speaking of sperm and "voter owned elections", does anyone else think it is ludicrous that an incumbent (Opie) should qualify for monies that are supposedly to benefit new, unknown candidates campaigns so that Portland has a diversity of socialists to choose from?
