And it will be my late dad's birthday, too

Barring something untoward, unique visit no. 1,000,000 to this blog will roll in sometime after midnight tonight. Ironically, I may not be up to see it; I've got business early in the day tomorrow. If you're the millionth visitor, send me a screenshot. (In Windows, hit "PrtScrn"; open Accessories - Paint; click "Edit" - "Paste" - "File" - "Save"; then e-mail it here.)

UPDATE, 9/12, 12:19 a.m.: Looks like no. 1 million arrived at 11:57, via something called theplanet.com, in Dallas, Texas:

Thanks to everyone who visits and comments here. This is my best hobby ever.

10:03pm....it's at 999,863

Yep, it might it make it to 1G by midnight. Heavy traffic for this late...

Must be the moon, or 9/11.

Dang. I'm just 999,962.

dang. 1,000,002

congrats.

and when I checked back after visiting the broken pony blog its at 1,000,006.

So close. I wanted to be Oliver from the Brady Bunch my whole life...

I was 1,000,000! :)

Howdy, y'all...

Er, the fake IP you've been using isn't even close.

At least they spent 0 seconds getting that distinction!

What sort of swag did they win, Jack?

Glory days, Jack. Congrats on 1,000,000 hits especially after the last few weeks. You stared archive oblivion in the face and didn't appear to flinch. It's like that old Bruce Springsteen song, "Born to Blog".

"This is my best hobby ever."

And legions of us get a free ride. Congratulations and, more importantly, thanks.

Ditto.

Double ditto.

And now, one million hits,
And still I face a fate uncertain.
My friends, I'll blog it clear,
I'll let you know things that are hurtin'.

I've read a lot of bull.
And seen the right, beside the wrong way
And more, much more than this,
I blogged it my way.

Bad hits, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do,
I cut them off without exemption.

I panned each aerial tram
Each developer's move, inside the byway
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were blogs, I'm sure you knew
When I took on, more than I could do,
But through it all, when there was graft,
I tried to say we got the shaft.
I said it then, and now today
And did it my way.

I've bluffed, but never shied,
I've blogged on things the public's using
And then politicians cried
We heard all of their excusing

To think I tried all that
And may I say - not in a shy way,
No, oh no not me,
I did it my way.

For what is BoJack, what has he done?
If not offended, just about everyone.
He says the things that no one will
And sets himself up for the kill,
His blog will show, he was in the know
And did it Jack's way.

Patrick:

Best... comment... ever!!!

Really, Patrick, I am honored. Thank you.

That was impressive. I can almost hear Frank...

Dang, I was to busy to catch all the action.

Congrats.

yip yip

Dear Cuz (and Blogfaddah),

Sorry I'm late, but I was out of the country on the big day. Congratulations. Well done.
