Tragedy

This is awful. Probably hypothermia, or even drowning, in the record bad weather we've had this week. That's a pretty mellow hike normally. God help the victim and her family.

That's really sad. I saw that on the news this morning.

Sarah died of drowning in the Sandy River. Evidently the bridge (a temporary one!) washed out and she attempted to ford the river and drowned.

This is truly sad, Sarah was one of the most remarkable young women I have met. She was a founder of 100% Oregon voter registration project. She was also an active union organizer for the IWW in social services.

I too was deeply saddened upon reading of Sarah's death this morning. Her life's focus to help young people survive their chaotic world is what I consider to be amongst the most important of our work here on earth.

Rest in peace, Sarah.
